ThePurocorazón Fall-Winter Collection recounts the story of a magical trip throughmist-laden mountains in an imaginary truck that unites couples-both human andanimal-throughout the world.  These couples, regardless of their originand beliefs, bond to live harmoniously on this fantastic journey.  Onceagain, the intricate handmade details crafted by artisans from different partsof Peru are displayed throughout the collection: wool made manually from looms,carefully cross stitched borders and filling, crochet knitting’s, wood workhand-painted and netting embedded with fine alpaca wool and patchwork. Withthis collection, Purocorazón introduces not only handbags, but also gloves,pins and scarves.

Forthis collection, Purocorazon recounts the story of a romance between a puma anda cockatoo.  The starting point is an illustration drawn by our friend and talented artist Catalina Estrada, who, with her marvellous collaboration tellsher version of this romance in picture form and Purocorazon applies its own special touches with handmade flourishes by expert Peruvian craftsmen and women.  These include cross-stitching, borders lined with cotton and ribbons, printing and the use of different fabric to add a colorful,light hearted touch that characterizes Peruvian craftsmanship.  These techniques give special looks that invigorate the story with freshness and vitality.

The process we followed for this collection was really wonderful.  We began with the grandiose idea of undertaking a project together with our friend Catalina, who -stylish and unique as she is - performed an amazing illustration based on the subject of the jungle and the romance between a cockatoo and apuma. Once we had the illustration in our hands - with all the colours and blends typical of her creations - Purocorazon team began to explore this incredible world:  we tried thousands of different ways to transform the illustration into a common pattern where each artisan could try out his/her specific embroidery technique. We designed maps with colour Pima cotton threads as well as line templates: first, with a pencil,then adding colours, and finally, turning to digital technology which would help artisans guess how to place colours and textures. The pieces made a long journey towards several places in Peru; with enormous patience,each location applied its own embroidery techniques - among which special cross-stitch methods - finally providing their own version of the project. We went through a lot of exploring: from printing technology on very unusual materials to the meticulous techniques of fabric patchworks and embroideries. Each technique used by Purocorazon has a space in this collection where so many talents and efforts have come together once again. It has been an incredible experience to see how the collection has been developed, with each artisan group providing their unique vision of Cati's drawings
